How do we get the coaches to sign the score sheets after a match without chasing them?
One trick that Mike Paull has found helpful is that as the teams are shaking hands after the match and you are coming off the stand and across the court, try to time it so that you are right there as the two coaches are shaking hands. Telling them both to come and sign the sheet at that moment is easily and quickly accomplished. A single mention before the match is often not sufficient as, at that time, the coaches understandably have a lot on their minds. Mike has found that mentioning it to both coaches after the match has led to a higher level of compliance, and is certainly extremely easy to do as they shake hands (both coaches together, no delays, no chasing, etc.) This technique was mentioned at the USAV clinic at Nittany and works well, with no delays to begin the next match.
